Casinacho Games

★★★★☆ 4.3 Editor rating

Casinacho Games is one of those apps you open expecting five minutes and close forty minutes later. It's a bundle of short, self-contained mini-games — tapping, timing, matching, a bit of light reflex work — tied together by a cheerful shared menu. Nothing here asks for a manual. You tap a tile, the rules show up in a sentence, and you're playing.

What won me over was the pacing. Each mini-game is built around a single idea and doesn't overstay its welcome. The controls are all one-thumb friendly, which is exactly what you want for something you'll play on a crowded tram. We ran it in portrait the whole time and never fumbled a tap, and the interface stays readable even on smaller screens.

It's not a deep experience, and it doesn't pretend to be. But as a palate cleanser between heavier games, it does the job well. Battery drain was modest in our tests, and the sessions are short enough that you can put it down mid-run without any guilt.
